Crimson offers a thoughtful, professional approach: we have your privacy, preferences, and “style” in mind with every task we do for you - whether that’s scheduling and overseeing an HVAC specialist, creating floral arrangements for your home, selecting wine for a special dinner, running errands, receiving deliveries, or overseeing a landscaping crew installing newly-designed gardening and entertainment areas.
We take the time to get to know your taste, needs, and expectations - in person, when possible. As a local, boutique business, we’re able to establish a degree of trust, collaboration and networking with other in-kind businesses that large,remote-based home management and short-term rental companies can’t accomplish via video calls and a Wifi connection.
Creating the Perfect Rental
Renting out a room, studio, or house in the Hudson Valley and Catskills areas was a common practice long before the advent of the “short-term rental.” When Crimson founder, Rosie, started spending time in the area, she found out about places for rent through friends, on Craigslist, or on artist-community share boards. One of her favorite stays was in Claryville, NY, renting out the cabin of an accomplished photojournalist and war photographer who was often away on assignment.
By 2010, Rosie turned to online rental platforms as a way to find comfortable and unique places to stay. A few years later, she became the co-owner of a house in Phoenicia, and began renting it out as a “host.” The property had a magical, old-fashioned quality - indoors and outside. It felt like the kind of place that should be shared with others. Over time, many visitors from all over the US stayed there, and it became a popular rental. Rosie got to know what visitors to this area appreciate, and look for, in a rental, and she utilized her previous work in marketing writing and photography to deftly craft her listings.
Crimson is now offering a variety of services to short-term rental owners who want to delegate their property management or hosting tasks to a trusted, tested, local source. We attend local government meetings, keep up on permitting rules, and have collected a network of tradespeople and decorating sources. And most importantly, we are both fans of traveling to, and living in, this area!

Crimson cares about and has a personal stake in how the local community is effected by - and intersects with - those who travel to the area for weekends or extended stays.
We believe that there is a useful personal and economic interplay between full-time residents, part-time residents, and those who want to rent out unused personal spaces or second homes for passive income. We’re aware that there can be a disconnect between the lives and needs of various people, and that a lack of perspective and information is often the simple cause.
We strongly believe that when people share their experiences, concerns, and needs - the Hudson Valley and Catskills areas can remain a beautiful and beloved base of operations for residents and visitors, alike.
We champion the idea that getting to know your neighbors - or the people you meet while spending time in an area - can be an enjoyable way to build a sense of trust, perspective, and community. It can be a vital foundation for thoughtful and productive compromise when different groups have different needs.
Professionally Certified and Insured
Founder Rosie, received a Certificate of Completion of the New York State Real Estate Sales Pre-License Course from Colibri Real Estate School.* This comprehensive training covers everything from property management best practices, construction practices, mortgage products, sales contracts, and NY state laws and ethical standards as related to “real property.” Rosie has followed and participated in the local real estate market for many years, and is also able to share guidance, tips, coaching, and support for land or home purchases.
Crimson is fully insured, and is happy to provide certificates of insurance to our clients.
