Arts Classes

Creating art, music, or joining in guided group wellness or fitness activities can be a great way to relax, have fun, and slow down from the obligations of everyday life. It can also be a simple but effective way to connect with your intuition, clear your mind to get in touch with new ideas, or aid in healing chronic physical or emotional pain.

We’ve test driven all the workshops and experiences we offer, and are fascinated by the growing body of research in medical science and psychology that is opening to and validating the benefits of art, music, and sound therapy, Nature, and alternative forms of relaxation and healing. We’ve found that regularly utilizing these techniques can radically change our mood, mindset, and physical energy.

We host experiences taught or led by knowledgeable, down-to-earth people who have the skills, kindness, and enthusiasm to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and nurtured.

Nature's Palette, Handmade Watercolor Painting Class

Join us for a Catskills-centric art class that offers the chance to pound out your stress and create your own art work from the results!

New Paltz, NY-based fine artist and organic watercolor paint maker, Laura Leigh, leads our workshop outdoors, bringing with her a colorful collection of sedimentary rock and clay from the Catskills, Appalachian, and Green Mountains. In the first half of the class, Laura will share her knowledge about basic geology, the history of pigments, and how to safely pound, mix, and mold rock dust and other pigments into a unique, artistic medium that is both historic and modern. Students then are invited to channel their energy into pulverizing the rocks into a fine powder, and learning the process of making organic watercolor paint.

The second half of the class will allow you to pick a spot, a thought, a photo, a plant, or an idea, and get to work on creating your own watercolor painting. All supplies will be provided. No prior experience in art or painting is required. We encourage all types of people to get in touch with their creative side, and enjoy the act of pounding rock, mixing the paint, and putting brush to paper!

Coffee, Mimosas, healthy snacks, and Crimson Catskills merchandise will be on offer by suggested donation.

Please wear comfortable shoes, and be mindful you’ll be outdoors.

Park cars or bikes on Broadway, and in the surrounding area. We are in walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions in the Midtown Arts and the Stockade Districts in Kingston, NY.

Tarangah: a harmonic wave of yoga, breath work, and sonic elixirs

Tarangah: a harmonic wave of yoga, breath work, and sonic elixirs

Tarangah, meaning wave in Sanskrit, will be a unique and powerful program of yoga, breath work, and sonic elixirs.

Participants can actively transform their health, fitness, and consciousness using this distinct guided program of movement, sound, and breathing.

Led by transformational coach, yoga teacher and breath work instructor Sibylle Jud, and voice artist and vibration specialist, Madeline Grace, the event will start with a medium-skill level yoga program, then segue into the breathwork and sound bath.

The breath work taught by Sibylle resembles holotropic breath therapy, which was conceived by Stanislav and Christina Grof in the 1970’s. During this active breathing segment, participants experience altered states of mind and body induced by the heightened oxygenation of the body’s blood. It is intended for those interested in deeper forms of self-awareness and healing.

Participants can expect to get into a deep, meditative state, and have reported various visions and experiences that can cause a physical release of stagnant energy and emotions.

Madeline’s “sonic elixir” accompaniment will be a live, improvisational soundscape created with the intention of supporting participants with a full-body, sound bathing experience. These sonic elixirs, performed at specific frequencies, can help the body helps the body and brain relax into deeper states of consciousness. Afterwards, you leave feeling relaxed, clear, and energized!!

Some of the lasting benefits of participating in this program and these techniques have been reported as: alleviating anxiety and depression, improving sleep, improving overall energy, a safe way to explore altered states of consciousness, and inceased focus and heightened creativity.

We recommend this program for those who have prior experience with intermediate-level yoga, and whose cardiovascular system can support about 25 minutes worth of controlled breathing. 21+

Summer SoundWaves: outdoor chillness experience

Join us for our first Summer SoundWaves outdoor music and wellness experience in the Midtown Arts District of Kingston, NY!

Spread your blanket out on the grass, under the early evening sky, and enjoy a unique combo of mind-body relaxation. Our “chillness” program will start off with a seated, communal cacao ceremony and guided meditation led by Intuitive Mentor/Health & Detox coach, Sabina Kurz. We then invite you to lie back on the ground and receive a deeply soothing musical sound bath and energy tuning performance by musician and Tibetan Tones practitioner, Jennifer Muir.

Crimson’s “chillness” events welcome seasoned users of meditative healing, as well as those new to wellness and sound-vibration techniques who are curious to see and feel how these practices can create positive transformation. Explore the benefits of how cacao, the seed that chocolate and cocoa is made from, can energize your vitality and intuition, and why “sonic healing” is becoming a popular, science and psychology-based method of stimulating physical and emotional healing. Hosted and curated by Crimson-Catskills, with Summertime soothing organic beverages, snacks, and mingling following the programming. Local products by Kingston Cacao Lab, Bashakill Vineyards, Wurtsburo, NY and Space Cakes of Kingston, NY (Stayspacy.com).

Please wear comfortable shoes for the event, and be mindful you will be outdoors for our offerings: while we encourage you to bring your own insect repellant, please be respectful of others with allergic sensitivities to smells/toxins. We’ll have green/sensitive aromatic tiki torches lit around the space.

Park cars or bikes on Broadway, and in the surrounding area. We are in walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions in Midtown and the Stockade Districts in Kingston.
